REFUNDS:
Tickets are non-refundable, unless the entire event is cancelled. There will not be refunds due to changes in celebrity guests, locations, or weather. However, if you need to transfer your ticket to someone else you are welcome to make those arrangements and let the event coordinator know.
LOCATIONS AND CELEBRITY GUESTS:
All locations and celebrity guests are subject to change. We do our best to minimize this risk, but it can occur that a celebrity guest has to cancel their participation in the event due to scheduling conflicts related to filming (for example). If a celebrity guest has to withdraw from the event, we will post an announcement immediately. You will have an opportunity to investigate all the event locations, and to spend time with the special guests in either investigations or other activities.
TICKETS/REGISTRATION:
You will receive your event access pass at registration on Thursday 10/13 or Friday 10/14 depending on your ticket selection. Registration for both will be at The Washoe Club. Nothing will come in the mail, but you will receive an email confirming your purchase.
AGE RESTRICTIONS:
The event is limited to ages 18 and over, or 17 if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you need an exception to this policy, please contact the event coordinator to discuss your specific situation.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS:
The event will follow whatever guidance is in place in Nevada at the time of the event. Please plan accordingly.
MINGLE & MAYHEM DETAILS:
The Full Event ticket will include an opportunity to mingle Thursday night with special guests Shane Pittman, Sarah Lemos-Aune, Michelle LeBaron, and Janice Oberding for autographs and photos. Some of the celebrity guests will have merchandise for sale. This is also a good time to mingle with other guests and share ghost stories.
AUTOGRAPHS:
For the Mingle & Mayhem, feel free to bring items for celebrity guests to sign, but please limit it to 1 item per person. Some celebrity guests may charge a small fee to autograph items not purchased from them. There will be autographs available for you to purchase if you don’t bring your own item. Photos will also be permitted.
CAPACITY:
The full event including investigations is limited to around 30 guests. The size of the investigation groups will vary, but will be around 15 people per group. Each group will have an opportunity to investigate or interact with the celebrity guests. You will be assigned to a group by the event coordinator.
The one night only investigation Friday night is also limited to around 30 guests. (Full event ticket holders who purchase a second night of investigating will be included in that 30 guest limit.)
ACCESSIBILITY:
Most of the locations are historic and are not easily accessible. They may require the ability to climb stairs. There are two sets of stairs in The Washoe Club, and investigators will need to be able to manage them in order to participate in that investigation. There are also stairs to access the Knights of Pythias location. This is beyond our control and is due to the time period in which the locations were constructed. You will be required to sign a liability waiver at registration.
EQUIPMENT:
For the investigation, please bring your own equipment. The event is not responsible for any equipment that is lost, damaged, or stolen… so please exercise caution when setting up your equipment if you intend to leave it unattended.
PHOTO RELEASE:
You may be photographed or filmed at this event, and by purchasing your ticket you are agreeing to release any images or footage at the discretion of the event coordinator.
ALCOHOL POLICY:
Thursday night at the Mingle & Mayhem or after in the bar are your opportunities to grab a drink and hang out with other folks at the event. However, for the investigations the next two nights anyone under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to enter the investigation locations.
WEATHER:
The weather in Virginia City varies in October. The average for that time of year is around 61 degrees during the day and 41 degrees at night, so pack accordingly.
TRANSPORTATION:
The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the closest to Virginia City. You'll want to rent a car, or make arrangements to ride share with other guests (both to/from VC and also between investigation locations if you don't want to walk).
It's about 23 miles from the airport up the Geiger Grade to town. It's a windy road with breathtaking views, and will take you 35-45 minutes. Watch out for wild horses!
There will be some walking between investigation locations, and none are so far apart that they aren't walkable BUT there are a lot of steep roads in VC and some folks prefer to have a car for convenience. The town is about a mile from end to end, but there are some hills to navigate depending on where you're headed.
LODGING:
Lodging options can be explored at this website...
https://visitvirginiacitynv.com/hotels-and-motels/
and The Virginia City Inn is a good option about a half mile from the center of town. The Tahoe House is also a lovely place to stay. The Silverland Hotel is the larger of the hotels in town.
You will want to make your reservations as soon as possible, as there are limited options once all the rooms are full. Reach out to the event coordinator if you have purchased tickets and are unable to find accommodations, and we will see if we can arrange a room share with another event attendee.
